Stone mold for casting jewelry

The 13th - early 14th centuries.

Stone, carving. Size 7.3x6.6 cm.

Accidental find before 1940.

The mold for casting jewelry. There were bronze foundries in the Golden Horde. Most small plastic arts items were made from bronze - these were various household objects: rivets, nails, thimbles, as well as more complex, highly artistic objects, such as mirrors and jewelry. For this, various devices were used, for example, casting molds for pouring metal.
