Inkwell

The 14th century

Clay, circle. Diameter – 6 cm.

Accidental find near the town of Dubovka, Dubovsky rayon, Volgograd oblast, 1960.

The biconical easel flaked vessel with remains of blue glaze. The vessel was used to store ink. Such finds indicate the existence, even in small Golden Horde cities, of science and art development centres.
