Projectile point

Late Neolithic

Quartzite. Length 7.8 cm

Found near the Kozlinovsky khutor, Novoanninsky rayon, Volgograd oblast.

Excavations by Vladimir Ilyich Eremen, 1976.

The projectile point has a regular oval elongated shape with a pointed front part and a triangular handle.

The dart is a lightweight spear designed primarily for throwing purposes, historically used as a ranged weapon and in hunting medium-sized animals.
