Stone Age
In archeology, large ancient eras are distinguished by the material mainly used for making tools; these are the Stone, Bronze, and Early Iron Ages. Although, for example, in the Bronze Age, for a long time, various things, including tools, were still made from stone, it is bronze products that determined the progressive development trend.
The Stone Age is called so because it marks a significant period in human history when stone tools that have survived to the present day were predominantly used, especially with regard to tools. Wood could also have been widely used in that era, for example, for making spearheads, but unlike stone wood is poorly preserved.
