Anthropomorphic head

The 18th-19th centuries

Bronze, casting, size 3.2×4.9×10.4 cm.

Accidental find in 1971 near the village of Peregruznoye, Oktyabrsky rayon.

The hollow figurine of the «freak» depicts a bearded man of the Mongoloid type with traces of violent deformity: one-eyed, one-eared, hunchbacked, armless.

According to some research, the anthropomorphic head is a symbolic image of the sacralized Tengri Khan – the god of the sky.
